MP3

The technology called MP3 has changed the way consumers purchase their favorite music. Companies sell music, and musicians market songs using the technology, directly to consumers, without involving agents, recording companies and distributors. You need a special recording device to download your favorite songs into your computer. Consumers are able to store music on home computers or on a portable music player, such as iPod. CEO's of music industries start worrying about his phenomenon. They are afraid of getting a reduction from their initial shares. The Recording Industry of America Association (RIAA) warns that many illegal copies of some artists' work are going around, and they are suing some of the internet users who downloaded music for free, especially through peer-to-peer networks. The RIAA is concerned for the artists and the royalties they lose because of this technology. The artists, consumers, and record companies all can get a pretty good consensus about this technology if they will be more imaginative about how they sell music. The old days of buying CDs are almost gone.

Modern Music

Popular music is basically what its name says it is - music that is enjoyed by a very large number of people. But the modern term "poplular music" refers more particularly to music that's made by a musical entertainment business specifically in order to be sold.

Popular music (or "pop" music) has roots in the music halls and and vaudeville theaters of England and the United States. However, the modern popular music industry was truly launched with radio programming in the 20th century. Traditional songs were performed in new styles, and at the same time, traditional instrumets gave the new music an entirely different sound. This mixing of styles and sounds became "world music". Today world music blends a wide range of sounds and rhythms. And popular music continues to evolve.

Also internet function can quickly solve the unknown things by the internet search and provides new in a real-time. So, our life was more convenient and efficiency with this modern technology advantage. If there is not modern technology, we must wait from the public phone box for make a phone call or we should buy tape in order to listen to music, and search for book for solve the problem instead of internet. It can be quiet streesful to us. In conclusion, the busy moderns are not being necessary. Modern develpments and technologies have a great impact on the way people live their lives.

Internet Language

Are you familiar with the language Internet chatters use? If you understand this conversation, you probably like to chat on the Internet. Millions of Internet users around the world are using a language that they are developing themselves. This new English, or Internet slang, is mad up of new words such as "blog"; contractions such as "HMWK" for "homework"; acronyms (words formed from first letters) such as "LOL" for "laughing out loud"; and finally, symblos that represent emotions, like ":)".

Why do people use Internet slang? The main reason has to do with speed Internet chatters are usually in a hurry. They want to send their messages quickly. By using contractions and symbols, writers can type more words per minute. Why take the time to type "For your information" when you could simply type "FYI"?Some of the new words and contractions used by chatters eventually become a part of everyday speech. In this way, chatters are helping the English language to grow. They are inventing new terms that will probably soon appear in dictionaries. You can already find the words "blog" and "blogging" in most new dictionaries.

It's not difficult to find negative opinions about Internet slang. Using Internet slang almost everyday, chatters are starting not to care about correct spellings or grammar. Many teachers complain that students who are used to online chatting are confusing Internet slang with proper English. They worry that chatters are contaminating the language with their invented words and careless grammar. They say Internet chatters should pay attention to using English correctly online. What do you think?
